A Message from Ian:
This week Ian found tadpoles!  He also made beautiful artwork inspired by the water.  Ian made a model of his teeth with beans and volcano friends.  Ian practised the songs for graduation and made train tracks outside!

A Message from Katalina:
This week Katalina had a picnic outside and learned to draw a bat.  She also recorded facts about bats on her sheet.  Katalina made a bike safety poster and drew a self portrait.  She wrote about the most important thing about her.  Katalina also drew a picture of a monster and wrote about where she met this monster and where they would go on an adventure!

A Message from Rafe:
Hi Amy, Hyma and Jane! And hi to all of Rafe’s classmates. He misses everyone so much!
Lately Rafe has been going on walks, bike rides and adventures, building with Lego (he really likes to build symmetrically), building with cubes, playing math addition games, sounding out words and writing, and his favourite activity of all: fishing at the cottage!
Hope everyone is doing well!
Love, Rafe

A Message from Theo:
Theo has grown a cucumber plant on our balcony. He has been taking great care of it, remembering to water it each day.
Lots of picnics and pretend restaurants. Theo sometimes writes a menu, or just tells us the specials!
We got a gruffalo rhyming game, which has been great for practicing word families.
Today he got the training wheels off his bike, he managed to ride on his own for about 5 seconds. He didn't get at all scared and kept trying.
We hope you all have some great plans lined up for summer. Hopefully it won't be too long until we can see our friends again!

A Message from Ian:
We love watching our teachers'videos, and some of the stories are very fun to watch, especially Bugs Bugs Bugs, and Bad case of Stripes, we like to watch them over and over again.
We used the life cycle for dandelions,  mosquitos, frogs and now volcanoes!

A Message from Jonah:
Jonah has been a little trooper tackling most of your school assignments, and also participating in active reading with another on-line "Reading Buddy". Jonah chose "Don't Call Me Bear", and "The Cool Bean" which are two of his favourites.
The below images are based upon many of the weekly activities: Carla's Sandwich/Sandwich Poster, A Bad Case of the Stripes/Self Portrait, Why Bees Matter/Poster, How to draw a Boy & Girl. Jonah loves Minecraft and discovered how to draw a Creeper for your writing assignment using Kids Art Hub for direction.
We're all thinking of you, and hope you're doing well.

A Message from Oscar:
Oscar had a busy week building Lego structures, doing experiments with his dad, and getting lots of outdoor time.

He wrote a story based on two Lego robot characters he made - a mail delivery robot named Super Zapper, and a Praying Mantis robot named Fangy.

Oscar is also learning about self-care. One day when he was feeling a little sad, he sat in a laundry basket with all his favourite stuffed animals, which made him feel much better! (He also likes to do Cosmic Kids Yoga.)

A Message from Poppy:
This week Poppy used her new abacus to help with math equations and found it very helpful in the tens and ones exercise. She sang along with all of the videos of Amy singing. She drew a monster and answered the 5 Ws. She drew a picture of a bee and added a butterfly friend for it. Poppy wanted to share some additional drawings from this week; one of a mouse town, and another of two rabbits. We have continued to enjoy walks outside when it is sunny, getting more comfortable on our bike and scooter, and gardening. We passed the schoolyard today and noticed the kindie yard equipment has been painted some bright fun colours! We miss all your smiling faces!

    Sharing Our Stories

During distanced learning our class wanted to feel connected to each other.  For this reason, we set up this page on our website.  Here the students shared their stories with one another!  Parent permission was received to post all pictures. This year, we will be using this page to show weekly student work.
