A Message from Leeloominai: Mummy gave Leeloo a new haircut and we got really creative with some art creations and also made a birthday card for aunty! A Message from Oscar: Hi Amy, Hyma and Jane, I hope you're enjoying your weekend. Thank you for the wonderful videos you shared with us. Oscar loved them! This week, we continued to explore the continents, with a focus on Africa. Oscar learned that there are over 50 different countries in Africa and about the many animals that live on the continent, including chimpanzees, elephants, hyenas, rhinos and cheetahs. Oscar loves cheetahs and made a 'cheetah rattle drum' for his craft project. He also worked on stories about the colossal squid and Tasmanian tiger. The Colossal Squid is the largest of all squids. It is a Cephalopod. They shoot ink and have hooks on their tentacles that they use to catch their prey. The Tasmanian Tiger is a marsupial that lived in Australia. They are extinct. Hunters killed them because they thought they ate humans with their big mouth. But that was not true. Please feel free to post any of these pictures on the website. Thank you! Anna, Ben and Oscar A Message from Geronimo: Dear Amy, Hyma and Jane - I loved your video stories, thank you for sending them. I am reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, it’s the third book of Harry Potter. Do you like my comic? It is DC and Marvel, it’s a mash up. A Message from Rosie: A Message from Ian: Here are some of my pictures, Sometimes we do a lot of things in one day, sometimes we take a break and relax with colouring and books! Here are some fun activities we did. We camped in our room for 2 nights, we made a volcano, played fast food drive thru and I drew a map! I hope to see you and my school friends soon! A Message from Emma: These are some activities I did last week! Hello Amy, Hyma and Jane, I hope you're doing well! We started watching a BBC Earth series called Seven Worlds, One Planet. Oscar is learning about a variety of animals living on the different continents and the challenges they face. The story about the Spidertailed Horned Viper is inspired by this series. More to come soon! Sperm Whales only have teeth on the bottom. They hunt squids big and small. This is a Spidertailed Horned Viper. It lives in Iran. The tip of its tail looks like a spider to trick birds. Golden orb spiders make large webs to catch their prey. I'm also sharing some pictures from our family pizza night! Oscar's pizza took the prize for most delicious! Please feel free to post any of these photos to the website. Thank you! Best, Anna, Oscar and Ben A Message from Rafe: Hi Amy, Hyma and Jane! Rafe still misses you all and wishes he could go to school! Here are some things Rafe has been up to lately: he matched upper case letters to lower case letters, went on a few “adventures” to the river, drew and wrote about robots (of course), planted an apple seed we found in an apple he ate and made signs to play with so he can direct traffic in our backyard. Hope you are doing well! A Message from Yiorgos: Hi Amy, Yiorgos is very interested on building forts, reading street signs and finding patterns so that’s how we are going about writing and reading these days! Hope you have a great week! Filtsos familly A Message from Poppy: This week Poppy learned to use the electric drill to make drainage holes in plastic containers for our seeds. She also made a strawberry birthday cake for one of her stuffies. While in the backyard she spotted an airplane and wondered where it was going. A Message from Geronimo: Hi everyone - here are Geronimo’s picture stories this week. We are still on the Harry Potter bandwagon :-). He liked all the videos this week! He says: “Dear Amy - I got a Boba Fett toy and I’m going to watch Harry Potter 1 tomorrow. I hope you and your family are good. Love, Geronimo” A Message from Ryder: This week Ryder worked on... - drawing and tracing over the word - independently write his name - he has made up a math game (he can easily count 1:1 & identify all numbers up to 11) - we are always working on rote counting from 10-20 - reading about all the animals in a new favorite book! - made banana bread - made a otter from Lego A Message from George:
George decided to sort his letters between ones he recognized and ones he didn't. Take care everyone!
